Residential Tesla Powerwall – A Permanent Distributor Of Solar Energy

Residential power storage batteries’ role is growing gradually. As time shows, it ensures high-level reliability and comfort to the consumers. For some renewable energy users, this device is a must, while others underestimate its capacities. But what is solar energy without a power backup, and how can it fulfill one’s expectations of reliability? It is sufficient to imagine residential buildings located far from the local grid and what happens when a rolling blackout occurs. Yes, they stay without electricity! An extremely inconvenient condition for the modern generations who are used to all sorts of conveniences.

When purchasing a PV system, many customers are offered a power storage battery by solar energy companies’ consultants. However, some customers reject the offer for various reasons; although the device is not a mandatory element in the overall photovoltaic system, life with it will be much more convenient; here is why. One of the benefits of solar energy is independence from the local grid. This independence is possible only with a power backup. Since solar panels generate power only when the sun meets the PV modules’ surface, energy production becomes either impossible or performs with low efficiency during cloudy weather or at night. If the system stops producing energy, the house will remain without electricity supply. With a power storage battery, this problem is solved. Whenever the electricity provision from the system stops, the device will start supplying the power stored in it. This power is usually the excess energy generated by the modules previously.

One of the leaders among power storage devices in the solar market is Tesla Powerwall specs of which are getting permanent upgrades. The device software solution currently offers the ultimate flexibility for the users with storm watch options and remote-control capability. Although the Tesla Powerwall price has increased a little recently, the manufacturing company spares no effort to expand the range of production amount. According to the latest announcement made by CEO Elon Musk, the time has come for the Tesla solar production to be sold only in the form of a kit. This basically means that the Tesla products will not be sold separately. The logic and requirement of this new selling are to simplify the process of Tesla Powerwall installation and overall system monitoring.

Another innovative idea by the Tesla team has been revealed lately as well. According to Musk, there is a concept of turning residential solar systems into solar energy distributors. Although the idea initially may sound somewhat fantastic, the Tesla CEO is confident in its demand and realization. Houses will be able to consume renewable energy and store it and even return it to the local grid. According to Musk, this is the only reason to avoid the rolling blackouts and temporally power-offs. The new company policy of selling PV modules and storage batteries will significantly contribute to realizing this new idea. By changing the company website, the Tesla team made another step towards the implementation of this concept. By bringing the example of Texas’s latest grid failure and Californian rolling blackouts, Musk stated that residential Tesla products would provide a better path of energy than the grid with its numerous power lines and power plants. According to the solar energy news, Musk’s idea was welcomed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University. The representatives of these establishments noted that the zero-carbon grid perspective would double or even triple the transmission capacity.

According to Musk’s vision, the new electricity grid system will be different from the one used today. The present systems are centrally operated by companies like Electric Reliability Council of Texas or California Independent System Operator. The new concept may result in the reduction of power loss during wire transfer in long distances. Hence, there will be more power available close to the user and less waste of electricity
